Overview

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to operate within the transport and logistics industry – multiskilling as a professional driver in fatigue management, vehicle inspection, route planning, load restraint, and chain of responsibility.

This course can be delivered via a Digital Classroom or flexible program of classroom training and self-paced learning activities. Students have up to 12 months to complete the course, including 26 weeks’ training program and self-directed learning.

Please be advised that some assessments may be conducted in a simulated environment. 

ARC Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course, students must:

    • Have completed Year 10 or equivalent*;
    • Must have work experience;
    • Be 16 years old and over (15 years for Funded program)*;
    • Have a minimum ACSF Level 2;
    • Complete a language, literacy, and numeracy test;
    • Have basic computing skills;
    • Be physically fit for potential lifting requirements;
    • Have access to safety boots, gloves, Hi-Viz shirt;
    • Must have access to a computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone device with up to date software and a stable internet connection, and
    • Provide their USI

* 15 or 16 years may be accepted if they are employed full time in the relevant industry, otherwise Year 12 or over 17 years.

Assessment methods may include but are not limited to:

  • Short answers, projects, reports, demo / role-play, portfolio.

Participants will need to complete eighteen (18) units of competency, six (6) core units and twelve (12) elective units for this qualification.
