The CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support qualification reflects the role of individuals in a range of community settings and peoples’ homes, who provide support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work according to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. They may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.

Digital classroom students will be required to attend workshops for practical skills demonstration/assessments, this will be communicated to students in advance.

I had the best time doing my Certificate with ARC training. It was awesome how I could choose my electives – it meant that I could study what really interested me. The trainers were really great too.
I did my certificate through ARC’s digital classes because as a stay at home mum, it really fit into my lifestyle. I was able to study when I wanted, where I wanted. I honestly don’t think I would have been able to get my qualification if it wasn’t for online classes.
This course can be delivered via a Digital Classroom or flexible program of classroom training and self-paced learning activities. Students have up to 12 months to complete the course (General Public); or approximately 33 weeks training program and self-directed learning (Existing Workers).
You will commit to 10 hours per week of self -directed learning, which can include reading the learner guide and conducting research. We also recommend you commit 5 hours per unit of competency for assessment preparation and completion.
Please be advised that some assessments may be conducted in a simulated environment. If you are not an existing worker in the industry, the current simulation locations are Parramatta (NSW), and Wollongong (NSW).
