Community Services Industry Courses

The healthcare industry is Australia’s largest and fastest growing industry. This highly important workforce is projected to have the strongest employment growth over any other industry, supported by the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and Australia’s increasingly ageing population. Community services positions recorded the strongest growth of all broad occupation groups over the past five years, rising by 21.4% or 234,300 new jobs!

Now more than ever before, Australia is in need of registered nurses, aged and disability care workers, personal care workers, nursing support workers and a whole range of other roles relevant to the community services sector.

Possible jobs in this industry include:

  • Aged care worker
  • Disability services worker
  • Personal caregiver
  • Residential disability support worker
  • Respite care worker
  • Aged care supervisor

If you’re looking for a new career path or to apply your desire to help people in need, consider a role in a rewarding, people-centric industry like community services today.

Good News Story:

Natasha had been working part-time in retail to support her young family when she came across the ad for the CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support. The availability of night sessions and access to government funding enabled her to complete the course without hindering her family life.

Throughout the course, Natasha discovered her passion for the nursing industry and is now using the course as a stepping stone into further studies. She believes this course has had a positive impact on her and her family’s life. We are confident – with her can-do attitude and nurturing personality – she will gain employment through her work placement.

Good News Story:

Sara is near the end of completing her CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support which has peaked her passion and interest in the health and aged care industries. She anticipates working in these sectors will be very rewarding as throughout this course she has recognised the impact that carers can have on another person’s health and wellbeing. Sara has found her trainer knowledgeable and enjoyed the topics covered.

Sara especially enjoyed her time spent at St George Aged Care Centre where she completed the practical component of her assist and administer medications competencies. She only has the work placement component of the course to complete which she feels very confident about. Enrolling into the course has spurred Sara on to enrol into a Bachelor of Nursing degree at Western Sydney University which she will be starting next year after she completes work placement! We’re extremely proud of students who go above and beyond in their career life, and we know that we’ve made career development easy for Sara.

Good News Story:

Michael recently undertook a CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing in Parramatta, and communicated to us that he gained so much more than he expected from the course and now work placement. Michael’s passion for the industry stems from his Taiwanese upbringing. He was raised by his grandparents while his parents worked and as they grew older, he could see the challenges older people faced both mentally and physically. Michael said the standards for aged care aren’t very high in Taiwan so when he moved to Australia and got the chance to study, he knew he wanted to do something in this rewarding industry.

Michael thoroughly enjoyed the learnings gained from the course and has developed a support network of like-minded people. He is now more determined to give a voice to those not able to communicate because of language barriers or debilitating diseases. Michael knows that his training has given him a great start in his chosen career and cannot wait to finish placement so that he can start looking for work.
