Youā€™ll learn how to lead by assuming responsibility for your own performance, provide leadership, guidance, and support to others as well as taking responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of teams. Youā€™ll hone skills in applying effective solutions to workplace problems, and to analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

This course can be delivered via a Digital Classroom or flexible program of classroom training and self-paced learning activities. Students have up to 12 months to complete the course, including 18-26 weeks training program and self-directed learning (General Public); or 37 weeks training program and self-directed learning (Existing Workers).

The Student Commitment

General Public Students:

These students who make a commitment to attending classes 2 days per week, 5 hours each day and to spendingĀ 10 hours of self -directed learning, which can include reading the learner guide and conducting research. We also recommend you commit 5 hours per unit of competency for assessment preparation and completion, as well as submitting assessments as per the agreed deadlines and achieving mandatory attendance targets have set themselves up to be successful in this course.

Existing Worker Students:

You will have 12 months to complete 12 units,Ā including a 49-week training program. Each unit of competency is deliveredĀ over a 4-week period. For each unit, there is oneĀ mandatory 2-hour session that you must attend.Ā These sessions are conducted live and digitally,Ā with experienced trainers who will assist you inĀ preparing your leadership skills, equipping you toĀ effectively manage diverse teams, and more!Ā You will commit to 10 hours of self-directed learning each week, which can include reading the learner guide andĀ conducting research. We recommendĀ you commit 5 hours per unit of competency forĀ assessment preparation and completion.

ARC Entry Requirements

ARC Training’s entry requirements differ depending on what type of student you are:

  • General Public – Any member of the public that meets the General ARC Training entry requirements.
  • Existing Workers – Individuals who are currently employed in the industry.

To be eligible for this course as a General Public student entrant, you must be:

  • Minimum 16 years and over (15 years for funded program)
  • Must have completed year 10 or equivalent (STS) (or have Work Experience);
  • Complete a Learning, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment (a minimum ACSF Level 3);
  • Be computer literate and have basic or reasonable computing skills;
  • Must have access to a computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone device with up to date software and stable internet connection (not necessary for face to face classes); and
  • Provide their USI or consent for ARC to apply for USI on your behalf.

To be eligible for this course as an Existing Worker entrant, you must be:

  • Must be an existing worker in the industry;
  • Minimum 16 years and over (15 years for funded program);
  • Must have completed year 10 or equivalent (STS);
  • Have 12 months work experience or demonstrated relevant industry experience or hold a Certificate III level qualification in Business
  • Complete a Learning, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Assessment, and achieve ACSF LLN Level
  • Be computer literate and have basic or reasonable computing skills;
  • Access to device with relevant software (camera and microphone), and stable internet connection
  • Provide their USI or consent for ARC to apply for USI on your behalf.

Training and Assessment Activities

The BSB40520 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management assessment methods may include but are not limited to:

  • Short answers, projects, reports, demo / role-play, portfolio.

Mode of Delivery:

  • Face to face and/or Digital Classroom – Includes self-directed learning.
